Gifts of Love in need of adoptions
File / eExtra News
Gifts of Love launched in early November with 600 Meals on Wheels recipients needing to be adopted. As of today, the program still has 200 seniors, disabled individuals and veterans who need to be adopted.
“With gifts being due back Friday, December 1st, it’s so important our community step up and help us ensure no senior goes without this Christmas.”
Adoption cards are located at Paris Coffee Company and Mathews Nissan of Paris. Gifts are due back December 1st to either location with the adoption card attached to a Christmas gift sack. Monetary donations are also welcomed.
Anyone who isn’t adopted by the deadline could still receive a Christmas gift if we can raise enough donations. To help, you can visit hrctexas.org or mail a donation to P.O. Box 714, Paris, Texas 75461.
Meals on Wheels recipients often live alone and will spend the holidays by themselves. The gift they receive from Gifts of Love will likely be the only one they get and the volunteer will most likely be the only visit they receive for the holidays.
Volunteer delivery in Paris and the surrounding area is December 15th. To sign up, call 903/784-2580 or email hrctexas.ed@gmail.com.
