Carl Robert Cullum || Obituary

Carl Robert Cullum, 65, of Paris, Texas passed away on Nov. 26, 2023, at his home with his family by his side.  

Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 29^th at Bright-Holland Funeral Home with Rev. Shannon McGuire officiating.  Burial will follow in McDonald Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 6-8 p.m.

Carl, the son of Lucille Ann Cullum and Billie Joe Cullum, was born July 14, 1958, in Houston.

He leaves behind his wife of 28 years, Tina Cullum, daughter Rachel Lutrell & husband Richard, son Jason Cullum & wife Tara, son Johnathan, and daughter Melissa Williams, 5 grandchildren; and one brother, Samuel “Sammy” Cullum & wife Tammy, along with several nieces, nephews and countless friends.  Carl was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Billy Joe Cullum Jr., George Keith Cullum and Ronald Steven Cullum, and his nephew, Samuel “Sammy K” Cullum.

Affectionately known by many as Pops, Carl graduated from West Lamar High School in 1976.  He worked for many years at Kimberly-Clark before retiring.  Pops spent over 35 years playing music across North Texas with several bands.  His guitar playing and singing drew many crowds to local music venues around Paris.  If Pops was not making music, he could be found having a good time with his family and friends around the fire and piddling in his shop.

Casket bearers will be Arnis Payne, Jordan Fields, Casey Woods, Roy Warren, James Flood, Zack Cullum and Marc Payne.
