Meals on Wheels Gifts of Love Launch party coming up this Friday

The Annual Gifts of Love Program launch party hosted by Meals on Wheels is this Friday, Nov. 3, 2023, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Paris Coffee Company.
Gifts of Love is a Christmas gift program for Meals on Wheels recipients. Recipients have the opportunity to complete surveys detailing their hobbies, if they have pets and items they want and need. That allows the staff to create adoption cards that go out in the community to be adopted.
“Our recipients aren’t asking for things you or I might ask for. Instead, commonly asked-for items are things most of us might take for granted,” said Shelly Braziel, Executive Director of Meals on Wheels. Common asked for items are houseshoes, cleaning supplies, pet food, toiletries, and food.
Adoption cards will be available during the launch party. Stop by during the live event to pick up one or more cards or drop off a monetary donation.
If you can’t make it out on Friday, you can continue to pick up adoption cards at Paris Coffee Company or Mathews Nissan of Paris until they’re gone or until the deadline of December 1st.
Once adopted, all gifts should be placed in a Christmas Gift sack and returned to the adoption site no later than December 1st.)
