Janis Lou Reynolds || Obituary

Janis Lou Reynolds, Age 86, passed away on Oct. 11, 2023, in the city of Webster. She passed peacefully surrounded by her beloved family members.

Janis was born in Abilene to Merle Moore and Mary Lou Bulloch on Aug. 22, 1937. She attended Abilene High School and graduated in the year 1955. On Aug. 16, 1954, she married the love of her life, E. R. Reynolds to which she was a loving and dedicated wife for 45 years. While she held many different jobs over the years, the most important ones to her were a preacher’s wife and dedicated child of God, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was fiercely loyal to the many church families she had the pleasure of serving alongside her husband and maintained a position of service for as long as she was able to. She was part of the Order of the Eastern Star and did well to fully embody their dedication to charity, truth, and loving-kindness.

Janis is preceded in death by her beloved husband, E. R. Reynolds, her son, Merle Roy Reynolds, and grandchildren Ben and Wesley Reynolds.

She is survived by her sister, Cathy Latham, daughter, Vanessa Potter, daughter-in-law, Kathy Reynolds, grandchildren, Joshua Uhl and wife Sara, Rebecca Lockridge and partner Benjamin Coplan, Matthew Potter, Dylan Potter, Chrystal Reynolds and husband Moises Ruiz Paz, Travis Reynolds and wife Sarah, Tony Reynolds, Adriana Jonas, Seth Jonas, and several great-grandchildren.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to East Post Oak Missionary Baptist Church for always making sure that Janis was taken care of after her husband passed.
