Kathy Jean Smith Lester of Paris || Obituary

Kathy Jean Smith Lester, 65 of Paris, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 26, 2023.

Funeral services have been set for Saturday, Sept. 30, 2023, at 11 a.m. at Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home with Rev. Peter Gray and Rev. Chad McQueen officiating.  Interment will follow at Union Cemetery.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service time.

Kathy was born in Dallas on Nov. 19, 1957, to John Oscar and Gertrude Hignight Smith.  She worked at Stillhouse Nursing Center for many years.

She is survived by her husband, Jim Lester; children, Jimmy Lester and wife Kristi of Faught, Texas, Chad Lester and wife Brandi of Lamar Point, Brad Lester, Michael “Mikey” Lester and wife Amanda of Paris, Jim Lester, Jr. “Bubba Jim” and wife Alisha of Paris; 17 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sister, Linna Ann Smith, Donna Smith, Vickie Ward; brothers, Johnny Glenn Smith, Michael Lynn Smith.

She was preceded in death by her parents; granddaughter, Ashley Brook Lester; sisters, Carol Gray, and Sharon Emeyabbi; brothers, Johnny Dale Smith, and Stanley Smith.

Serving as Pallbearers will be Brandon Lester, Peyton McFatridge, Michael Scott Lester, Blayce Walton, Isaiah Lester, Cameron Lester and Adrian Lester. Honorary Pallbearers will be Zack Lester and Brenton Walton.
