Higgins Elementary School welcomes grandparents for a special day

On Friday, Sept. 8, 2023, Higgins Elementary School opened its doors to welcome the cherished grandparents of our students. This heartwarming event, aimed at fostering intergenerational connections and celebrating the importance of family, was a resounding success.

Throughout the day, the classrooms at Higgins Elementary were abuzz with various activities designed to engage both grandparents and their grandchildren. One of the highlights included creating unique “grandparent glyphs” by rolling dice, allowing creativity to flourish and bringing generations closer together through art.

Another heartwarming activity was the reading sessions, where grandparents had the opportunity to read books to their grandchildren and their young friends. This not only promoted literacy but also created an atmosphere of storytelling and bonding that will leave lasting memories.
