Billy Ray Michael of Sumner || Obituary

Billy Ray Michael, 84, of Sumner went to be with Jesus and was reunited with his wife of 65 years, Pauline and other family on Friday, Aug. 25, 2023. He was surrounded by his family. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 29, 2023, in the chapel of Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home with Rev. Doug Holt officiating. Burial will follow in the Little Vine Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 – 7 p.m. Monday evening at the funeral home.

Mr. Michael was born on March 24, 1939, in Muse, Oklahoma a son of Ollie Houston and Rosella Bridgers Michael. He retired from the Texas Highway Dept., served in the U.S. Army and attended the Paris Church of God.  Billy loved his family and enjoyed hunting, fishing and drinking coffee.

He married Pauline Dean, the love of his life, on Sept. 29, 1956. She preceded him in death on March 30, 2022. He was also preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, Recil Young, Tony Young and Roy Michael.

Mr. Michael is survived by children, Sherri Rene’ Feagley, Paula Ann Wright and husband, Frank, Houston Dean Michael; grandchildren, Brandi Leona Ballard, Misty Nicole Ballard, Frank Edward Wright, III and wife JoEllen, Brittani Taylor Wright; great-grandchildren, Dylan Bland, Jaxon Ballard and Devyn Thacker and sister, Lois Ballard.
