Dorothy Louise Burrus of Paris || Obituary

Dorothy Louise Burrus, 75 of Ferris passed away on Monday, July 31, 2023.

Funeral services have been set for Saturday, Aug. 5, 2023, at 10 a.m. at Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Hamm officiating.  Interment will follow at West Post Oak Cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 6 – 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

She was born in Celina on Sept. 26, 1947, to Ermin and Zeda Bell Bledsoe. She married Charles Harvey Burrus on Oct. 25, 1984, in Dallas. Dorothy was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.  She had a special love for all children.  She enjoyed cooking for her family and spending time with the ones she loved.

She is survived by her husband, Charles; children, Kieth Allen, Cindy Jackson, Robbie Watkins, Jonathan Burrus; 29 grandchildren, 48 great-grandchildren; brother, Terry Bledsoe; sister, Betty Lofton.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ermin and Zeda Bell Bledsoe; children, Sherry Bledsoe, Zeda Flores, Kenneth Wigington; brothers, Charles Bledsoe, Stanley Bledsoe, Leon Bledsoe, David Bledsoe, J.C. Bledsoe, Barry Bledsoe, Marvin Bledsoe, John Henry Bledsoe, Edward Bledsoe, Ronnie Dale Bledsoe; sisters, Mary Ann Short, Maudeen Foster.

Serving as Pallbearers will be Robbie Dean Watkins, Jonathan Harvey Burrus, Kenneth Lee Bledsoe, Christopher Ray Bledsoe, Billy Jack Gajdica, Terry Ray Gajdica.  Honorary Pallbearers will be Joe Key and Arian Nathan Watkins.
