Tommy Hasting Batchelor of Reno || Obituary

Tommy Hasting Batchelor, age 81, of Reno, passed away on July 25, 2023.

Visitation will be held on Friday, July 28, 2023, at 1 p.m. at Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home with Buck Wade officiating. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. in the chapel. Interment will follow at Wheelock Cemetery in Millerton, Oklahoma.

Tommy was born July 19, 1942, in Garvin, Oklahoma to (Bud) George H. Batchelor and Tincie Lewis Batchelor. Tommy was married to Wilma Lee Workman from 1962 to 1968, he loved her and never remarried. Tommy and Wilma had four children. He worked as a farm hand then went to work for the City of Altus, Oklahoma as a caretaker of the cemetery for over thirty years. He retired and moved closer to his children. He loved meeting people and spending time with his family. He also loved fishing and picking on his guitar.

He is preceded in death by his parents, George and Tincie Batchelor; his sister, Billie Jean Batchelor Good; grandson, Jesse Lewis Batchelor; granddaughter, Cindy Sims; niece, Dawn Hamlett Blum.

He is survived by his daughter, Terry Ann Batchelor Gage and husband, Tony Anthony Gage of Reno; son, Tommy Wayne Batchelor and wife Mary Harrison Batchelor of McAlester, Oklahoma;  son, Jerry Lewis Batchelor of Paris; two sisters, Becky Batchelor Parsons of Headrick, Oklahoma, Peggy Batchelor Hamlett of Wylie; and a multitude of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He also has a son, Kenneth Dale Batchelor, who has been on the National Missing List for over twenty years.

Honorary Pallbearer will be (Tony)Anthony Gage. Serving as Pallbearers will be Billy Jones Jr., Bradly Hyatt, Jeremy Herttna, Jaime Garcia, Daniel Sims and Timmy Sims.
