Becky was born in Greenville on Jan. 12, 1964, the daughter of Billie Ray Adams and Betty Johnson Adams.  She married Clayton Louis Smoot on March 12, 1988, in Biardstown.

Becky graduated from Greenville High School in 1982.  She worked for John Deere in Greenville for many years prior to becoming the Parts Manager at Paris Implement. She worked there until the business closed in 1999.  After that, she worked from home managing the office for their family business, CL Smoot Trucking.

She stayed active watching her boys and numerous friends participate in sports.  Becky was known as “Ma Smoot” to many.  She selflessly volunteered and was a pro at setting up a concession stand.  She was also an active board member for Chisum ISD.

Becky cared deeply for her family and friends and cherished opportunities to visit with them and reminisce about the good times.  Becky enjoyed gardening, canning, and was well known for her beautiful flower beds.  She was a gifted crafter and enjoyed participating in local shows with her mom and sisters.  She was also an avid collector of vintage granite pans, canning jars, and all things John Deere.

She is survived by her husband, Clayton Louis Smoot of Biardstown; sons, Marc Smoot (Brianna) of Paris, and Adam Smoot of Paris; sisters, Judy Allen of Greenville, and Billie Lynn Abell (Brad) of Campbell; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Billie Ray Adams, Betty Cathryn Johnson Adams, brother Marc Ray Adams, and niece Lt. Holly Lea Adams.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Paris Oncology, Paris Regional Medical Center, Chambers Home Health, and the many family and friends who sent prayers, love and condolences to our family.

A small graveside service will be held at a later date.
