David Clay Mahon of Paris || Obituary

David Clay Mahon, 58 of Paris was called home on Thursday, June 15, 2023. 

Clay, as he was known to his family and David to his friends, was born on Aug. 8, 1964, to Wilma Jean Pilkington Mahon and Jimmy David Mahon.  He attended school in Paris and was a member of the Paris High School Class of 1983.  Clay worked as a truck driver and later at Wal-Mart before becoming disabled.  His passion was fishing, and he enjoyed gardening, canning his own vegetables and fruits and was an excellent cook.  He will be sorely missed by not only his family and friends but by his beloved boxers, Rocky and Jax.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jimmy David Mahon and his step-father, Michael Lee Bradley.

He is survived by his mother, Wilma Jean Bradley, and his devoted sister, Vickie Jean Swann both of Paris; his estranged wife, Debbie Mahon, daughter Alicia Mahon Thompson, and step-daughter, Amanda Hurley all of Paris; nieces Shandi Jones of Paris, Krissie Pate of Colorado, and Rebecca Tanner of Paris along with numerous great-nieces and nephews.

In accordance with his wishes, the family will have a private viewing and graveside service.  Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements.
