Alfred Bastinelli || Obituary

Alfred Bastinelli, born March 7, 1944, in Newport, Rhode Island, son of Alfred Bastinelli (deceased) and Lucia Pignatelli (deceased), passed away peacefully at home, at Cross Creek Farm, on May 27, 2023.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 32 years, Susan Bastinelli.

Children: Christle (Jerry), Dominic Bastinelli (Mark), Brian Ullrich (Rachel), Jennifer Hecker (Dan), Irene Allen (Jim), David Ullrich, Meredith Schnitzius (Matt)

Siblings:  Peter Bastinelli (Susan); Barbara Chappell (deceased)

Grandchildren: Ashley Hecker, Austin (Tanya), Nicholas Ullrich, Isaac Hecker, Olivia Hecker, Macy Cantrell, Kevin Ullrich, Natalie Ullrich, Ethan Ullrich, Robert Schnitzius

Great grandchildren:  Ethan, Dylan, Landon and Marlowe

Al was a faithful Catholic and member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Paris.  He was a dear friend, and brother in Christ.  Al proudly served in the Virginia Army National Guard during the Vietnam Era.  He was a retired rural letter carrier for the United States Postal Service.

Al was a member of the Knights of Columbus, a member of the Disciples of Jesus and Mary, a member of the Christian Community of God’s Delight, and was active in the Boy Scouts of America. He loved to sing & dance! Al was also an avid gardener, hunter, poultry and goat farmer, and beekeeper.

Al loved to participate in lively conversations and often shared his thoughts about making things better.  He enjoyed a good joke and had a wonderful sense of humor. Al will be deeply missed.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 6, 2023, at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, 3300 Clarksville Street, Paris, TX 75460, beginning at 10:30 a.m. with the Divine Mercy Chaplet.  The funeral Mass will begin at 11 a.m.  A luncheon will immediately follow the Mass in the parish fellowship hall.  The interment will be at 3 p.m. at the family cemetery.
