Irving man threatens local business with hatchet

On Thursday, June 1, 2023, at 8:31 a.m. Paris Police Officers were dispatched to a convenience store in the 3700 Block of Lamar Ave. for a security check.

Upon arrival, the officers encountered a male outside the building threatening people with a hatchet. “The officers observed the subject with a hatchet and a large fixed-blade knife in plain view on his belt,” said Public Information Officer, Alice Webb.

Webb added, “After a short period of time, the officers were able to disarm the subject and detain him. 26-year-old Zachary Eustacio DeJesus of Irving had threatened the store manager when he was asked to leave the premises. DeJesus had pulled the large knife and stated to the manager that he would not leave until he found out who killed his mother.”

DeJesus was arrested for Aggravated Assault- Deadly Weapon and also a Collin County Warrant for Assault of Peace Officer or Judge.
