Phillip Wayne Schmidt of Powderly || Obituary

Phillip Wayne Schmidt, 61, of Powderly passed away suddenly on May 20, 2023. He was born on Aug. 30, 1961, in Ulysses, Kansas, the son of Marvin and Helen Schmidt.

On Sept. 29, 1985, Phillip married Carolyn Schmidt in Ulysses, Kansas.

He spent his first fifty-three years in Ulysses, eventually moving to Powderly in 2014.

He attended West Haven Mennonite Church, Brookston. Phillip is survived by his wife, Carolyn, and three sons, Preston and his wife, Wendy, Cameron and his wife, Delrose, and Nolan and his wife, Amanda, and four grandchildren, Rocky, Blaze, Greyson, and Jade.

Phillip enjoyed being a part of the Volunteer Powderly Fire Department.

Arrangements have been made with Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home of Paris, Texas.  Visiting hours will be on Wednesday, May 24, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at West Haven Mennonite Church, Brookston.  Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 25, at 10:30 a.m. at West Haven Mennonite Church, Brookston.
