Melvin Curtis Bryan

Melvin Curtis Bryan was born on Jan. 20, 1941, to parents, Murel and Bonnie (Boyer) Bryan in Blossom.  He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy and later retired from Exxon.

He was a devoted husband to his wife, Phyllis Johnson Byran and a caring father to his children; Jennifer Sikes and Brad Bryan. He was Grandfather to James William Vorwerk (D), Cody James Vorwek (Shelby), Katherine Elaine Vorwerk, Kimberly Thrasher (Jesse) and Maegan Sikes and dutiful brother to Bonnie Ruth Bryan and Cathy Woodford (Dean).

Melvin will be remembered for his passion for the golf game. He loved to fish and watch baseball and listen to old country music.

A memorial service will be held at Fry Gibbs Funeral Home on Saturday, May 6 at 1 p.m. with Pastor D.J. Harris officiating.

Honorary pallbearers will be Eddie Sikes, Cody Vorwerk, Jesse Thrasher, Donnie Whitley, Chad Whitley, Erik Whitley and John Johnson, Jr.
