North Lamar girls track team take first at Area Competition || Content sponsored by Quality Care ER
North Lamar ISD girls’ track team took first at the Area competition Thursday, April 20, 2023, with several track and field athletes qualifying for Regionals, which will take place on April 28 and April 29, in Commerce.
The following individuals have qualified for the event:
- Heavenly Johnson, who placed 2nd in both shot put and discus
- Maddie Walters, who placed 1st in long jump and 2nd in triple jump
- Roselyn Spencer, who placed 1st in triple jump, 4th in long jump, and 1st in 400M
- Avery Spencer, who placed 3rd in high jump
- Emery Reaves, who placed 4th in 800M
- Aiden Petkus, who placed 3rd in boys high jump
In addition, the following relay teams have qualified:
- 4×100 relay team, which placed 3rd with the following members: Ave Allen, Maddie Walters, Theari Dorsey, Natalie Washington, Matilyn Wolfe, and Sela Geeslin
- 4×200 relay team, which placed 2nd with the following members: Sela Geeslin, Maddie Walters, Theari Dorsey, Natalie Washington, Ave Allen, and Matilyn Wolfe
- 4×400 relay team, which placed 1st with the following members: Emery Reaves, Theari Dorsey, Sela Geeslin, Roselyn Spencer, Ava Exum, and Emerson Putman
- Boys 4×400 relay team consisting of Case Fendley, Jackson Hoskins, Connor Brasseux, Lane Nelson, Cael DelToro, and Rhett Bestul also qualified and placed 4th in their event.
