Picnic on the Plaza


The Imagine the Possibilities Tours allow the public to view selected properties, discuss downtown revitalization, and meet the local Main Street property owners. 
Paris Main Street Project in partnership with local property owners will focus on buildings for sale or lease to attract new business. Attendees can see progress and hear testimonials of property owners who are in the process of construction or see finished spaces. See the properties all properties in Paris at DowntownTx.org
In addition, the unveiling of a Historic Marker is planned, honoring the First Coca-Cola served in Texas. In partnership with the Lamar County Historic Commission and the Coca-Cola Company, free Coke floats will be served on the Plaza beginning at 12 p.m. Organizers invite everyone to bring a picnic lunch and enjoy the plaza before starting their tours and unveiling of the Historic Marker begins.
The schedule is as follows;
12:00 p.m. Bring a picnic lunch and enjoy Coke floats 
12:30 Dedication of Historic Marker for the First Coca-Cola Served in Texas. 
Learn about M. P. Alexander, a Memphis pharmacist who became part of a Paris bookstore, was an original owner of Coca-Cola, invented in 1886 and first served in Texas in Paris in 1887.
12:45-4 p.m. Check-in at the R.FScott building located at 1. Lamar, on the NE corner of Main and Lamar. Visit Main Street Staff and learn about incentives available.
