On Tuesday, April 18, 2023, just before 3:30 p.m. Investigator Hastings with the Delta County Sheriff’s Office and investigators and deputies with the Lamar County Sheriff’s Office went to a motel in the 2500 block of Main Street in Paris to serve an active Delta County warrant on 36-year-old, Pecan Gap resident Samantha Peasley for Theft of Property over $2,500 and under $30 thousand.
This warrant was in connection to a case that the Delta County Sheriff’s Office was working on where Ms. Peasley and other suspects sold a Volkswagen on a social media platform without the consent of the owner. The stolen vehicle was recovered on Friday, April 14 in the Wolfe City area with the assistance of the Wolfe City Police Department.
At the time of the offense, Ms. Peasley was out on bond for previous offenses committed in January of this year. At this time, we are working on getting those bonds revoked.
Investigator Hastings is working in conjunction with other agency investigators on several leads of offenses committed by this individual and a theft ring involving several individuals in this county and other surrounding counties in our area.
Peasley is currently being held on a $10,000 Bond for the Theft of Property case at the Delta County Jail pending trial.
