Lamar County Sheriff’s Office investigate homicide

On March 1, 2023, sometime around 4 p.m., the Lamar County Sheriff’s Office received a call of a deceased person found in a vehicle parked in a gate area in the 4400 block of State Highway 24.
When Sheriff Deputies arrived, they found a 58-year-old male victim with gunshot wounds deceased in his vehicle.
The deceased has been sent for autopsy and the victim’s name is being withheld at this time. The victim is not a resident of Lamar County. Witnesses observed a dark-colored Dodge pickup leaving the scene. I
