Beloved husband, father, and grandfather, Johnny Murel King,68, of Paris went home to be with the Lord on Feb. 28, 2023, after a long battle with lung cancer.

Johnny was born on June 16, 1954, to his father Markus Murel King, and Mother Betty Jo Lane in Paris.

Johnny met the love of his life, Fonda Turner, in 1965 at the age of 9. After years of friendship, the two began dating in 1972 and in 1973, on the 25th of November, Johnny married Fonda. The couple went on to have two beautiful daughters, Arlena King and Rhonda King.

Johnny retired from working for the city of Paris in 1990. He spent his time listening to his favorite country artist and spending time at home with his family.

Johnny was predeceased by his brothers Terry King, David King, Markus King, and his sister Carolyn Johnson. He is survived by his wife Fonda King, his two daughters, Arlena King and Rhonda Heiden, his son-in-law Erich Heiden, his grandchildren Christopher Heiden, Matthew Heiden, Leah Wlodarczak, his grandson-in-law Austin Wlodarczak, and his great-grandson Titan Wlodarczak.

Services will be held at Life Community Church on Saturday, March 4. Visitation will be at 1 p.m. and funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Johnny will be laid to rest at Rockford Cemetery.
