Fatal crash in Fannin County

A preliminary investigation by Texas Department of Public Safety, Trooper A. Crittenden indicates a Kubota tractor towing a homemade trailer was traveling southbound on State Highway 78 without display of any emblems, reflective material, or lighting as required.

The driver, 60-year-old Nicolas Gamez Santana from Bonham slowed down to make a left turn. 65-year-old William Bailey Isham from Greenville was driving a 1998 Peterbilt towing a semi-trailer. Isham did not see Gamez or its trailer and struck him from behind.

Gamez’ tractor rolled over, ejecting him. He was pronounced deceased at the scene. This is an ongoing investigation.
