Near-record temperature are expected across North and Central Texas this afternoon with highs in the 70s and low 80s. These temperatures are generally around 15 to 25 degrees above normal for this time of the year. Maximum temperature records for January 10th of 79 degrees at DFW and 81 degrees and Waco may be tied or broken. Warm and dry conditions may lead to elevated fire weather concerns mainly across western North and Central Texas this afternoon.
