Congratulations to the North Lamar Pantherettes on their impressive win against Liberty-Eylau. It was a special night for the team and coaching staff, and especially for Maddie Walters, who scored her 1,250th career point in basketball. Maddie has been an incredible player throughout her high school career and is a true testament to the value of hard work and dedication. Her awards, including Red River Defensive Player of the Year, All District Defensive MVP(3 years), Team All Around MVP(2 years), Team Defensive MVP, First Team All District (3 years) are a reflection of her amazing skills and performance.
When asked about this particular achievement, Maddie says “I hit a major milestone and I thank God for allowing me to reach it. First, I would like to thank my parents for always being my #1 supporter. Secondly, I want to thank everyone that has helped me on my journey and help me become the basketball player I am today, but I’m not finished yet! ITS JUST THE BEGINNING!”
Maddie will graduate in May and hopes to continue playing basketball at the collegiate level while preparing for a career in the dental field.
