Velma Mae Westbrook, 94, of Paris passed away, Monday, January 2, 2023, in Brentwood Terrace. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 AM Thursday, January 5, 2023, in the chapel of Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home with Rev. Fred Fangio officiating. Burial will follow in the Highland Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 5:30 p.m. till 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

She was born on February 13, 1928, in Red River Co. a daughter of Marvin Varner and Faye Bryant Varner. Mrs. Westbrook was a member of Deport First Baptist Church and was a nurse’s aide at Deport Nursing Home.

She was preceded in death by her parents, spouses, Bill Brooks and Octavis Westbrook, siblings, her twin sister Thelma Pope, Mary Cross, Roy Varner, Rainey Varner, Kenneth Varner and Billy Mac Varner.

Mrs. Westbrook is survived by her son, David Brooks and wife, Nicki; granddaughter, Brandi Brooks Allred and spouse, Derek and siblings, Larry Varner, Linda Thomas, Jeanette Burks and Eunice Herd and brothers-in-law, Reece Brooks and Bobby Brooks.

Pallbearers will be Brad Burks, Brian Burks, Heath Thomas, Jason Thomas, Terry Mills and Tony Prior, Jr.
