Teen at Sen. Ted Cruz’s home hospitalized after self-inflicted arm injury

According to Houston police, it is not confirmed if the call involved a member of Cruz’s family. The senator has two daughters; Catherine, 11, and Caroline, 14.

In a statement to KTRK from Cruz’s representatives, “This is a family matter and thankfully their daughter is okay.” There were no serious injuries. The family requests the media respect their daughter’s privacy at this time.” The teen was taken to the hospital and no updates have been offered at this time. 

Cruz has not spoken about the incident on any of his socials. The senator previously confirmed he will seek reelection to serve a third term in the U.S. senate though a future presidential run has not yet been verified.
