Disaster Recovery || City Square designated as clothing headquarters
As part of the process to provide clothing and shoes to those impacted by Friday’s tornado, CitySquare Paris, 2515 Bonham Street, has received two trailers of clothing collected at Parker Elementary and the Lamar Point VFD to assist anyone who needs these items. CitySquare operates Monday-Friday from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. and will have Saturday and Sunday hours this weekend to accommodate the schedules of impacted families.
Working with the Lamar County Office of Emergency Management, CitySquare is no longer accepting clothing donations and has an ample inventory of men’s, women’s and children’s clothing and a variety of shoes. Because of a recent coat drive by Paris Regional Medical Center and Spring Lake Assisted Living Center and Memory Care, a supply of coats, both lightweight and heavier coats are also available to those in need.
“The generosity of our community should never be underestimated,” said CitySquare Executive Director, Derald Bulls. We do have ample opportunities for volunteers to help size, sort, and hang clothing up on racks. If you have a club or organization that can give a few hours to help, it would be greatly appreciated.“ Anyone interested in volunteering should contact the Volunteer Resource Center, 2805 North Main Street, or if you have given your time in the past, you may report to CitySquare.
