Tornado Disaster Response || How you can help Lamar County

November 7, 2022

The Texas Department of Emergency Management has information regarding what the community can do to help the victims of the recent tornado that hit Lamar County.

If you would like to help volunteer, the official Volunteer Resource Center is located at the old Shell Station Truck Stop, 2805 N. Main Street in Paris, Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
According to Amanda Willows, Public Information Officer assisting the Department of Emergency Management, “at this time we do not need additional material items such as clothing, blankets, food, etc. Financial assistance for our victims is the primary need.”

A Tornado Response Fund has been opened by the United Way of Lamar County to help families who were affected by the tornado. If you would like to donate to this fund please do so online at www.Lamarcountyuw.org or by mailing a donation to United Way of Lamar County, P.O. Box 1, Paris, Texas, 75461. Please add “tornado fund” to the memo on your check.
