A Christmas Story and Ralphie return in “A Christmas Story Christmas” this month
HBO Max released a teaser on Monday for the upcoming sequel, “A Christmas Story,” and it looks to be just as nostalgic as the original.
The teaser begins with iconic moments from the 1983 classic, “A Christmas Story,” and ends with an adult Ralphie Parker, Peter Billingsley, smiling and putting on his famous dark-rimmed glasses.
The new film is set in the 1970s as Ralphie returns to his childhood home on Cleveland Street to give his kids a magical Christmas like the ones he had when he was growing up.
The original beloved Christmas movie was set in the 1940s and narrated by Ralphie as he retells his obsession about wanting a BB gun from Santa. There are so many one-liners in the movie that lives on to this day; “I triple-dog-dare ya,” “ Hey kid, you’ll shoot your eye out,” “I can’t put my arms down, “He looks like a deranged Easter bunny and many more. And who can forget the leg lamp in the window? It is not known if the lamp leg will make a return in the sequel.
Other actors reprising their iconic roles are Ian Petrella as Randy and Zack Ward, the original Scut Farkus.
“A Christmas Story Christmas” premiers on HBO Max on Nov. 17. Click to watch the trailer.
