Paris Police responded to a motor vehicle accident in the 2400 block of N Main St at  8:23 A.M. on October 17, 2022. A brown Dodge Dakota pick-up rear-ended another vehicle.  The driver of the Dodge pick-up, Christopher Pierce Tucker, 50, of Paris, admitted to officers that he had been drinking and was intoxicated. Tucker was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated. It was later found that Tucker has had at least two prior convictions for driving while intoxicated so this charge was enhanced to a felony. Tucker was later transferred to the Lamar County Jail.

Paris Police responded to the 300 block of W Sherman St at 8:32 P.M. on October 17,  2022. Officers located and identified 47-year-old Samuel Vernon Taylor, of Paris. Taylor was found to be in possession of a small amount of methamphetamine. Taylor was arrested and later transferred to the Lamar County Jail.
