Local man attacks homeowner with a sledgehammer during burglary

Paris Police officers responded to a disturbance in the 1500 block of Graham St at 9:40 a.m. on Oct. 12, 2022.

Officers were met by the victim at the door who had a wound on his head. The victim reported that Kenneth Williams came to his residence and hit him in the head with a sledgehammer and threatened to kill the victim.

According to Office Curtis Garrett, “a female was with Williams and allegedly broke several windows with a baseball bat. The two fled the scene on foot when they heard the police approaching. Williams and the female were located a few blocks from the scene and arrested. The female had outstanding Municipal Court warrants and 40-year-old Kenneth Wayne Williams was charged with burglary of a residence with the intent to commit another felony.”

Williams was booked and later transferred to the Lamar County Jail.
