Cold front to sweep in today || Sponsored by Whitaker’s Towing
File / eExtra News
A cold front will sweep across North and Central Texas today. Ahead of the cold front, southerly winds will shift to the southwest and result in compressional warming. Highs will soar into the upper 80s to mid 90s across most of the region, with the highest temperatures expected across Central Texas. Winds will also increase to around 15 MPH ahead of and behind the front, with gusts around 20-30 MPH possible from late morning to this evening. The combination of breezy winds, warm temperatures, dry fuels, and low humidity will result in elevated fire weather concerns across most of the region. There is a low chance of isolated showers/storms along the front late this afternoon across our far southeastern counties.
