Paris Police observed an older male in the area of NW 7th St and Bonham St around  1:32 P.M. on October 6, 2022 making contact with several people in a short period of time.  Officers knew that there has been a lot of drug trafficking in the area. When officers attempted to make contact with the male, he rode away on his bicycle. Officers then stopped and detained 58-year-old Laney Gawayne Record. Record was found to be in possession of marijuana and methamphetamine. Record was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana. Record was booked and  later transferred to the Lamar County Jail. 

 

Paris Police stopped a vehicle in the 100 block of NW 7th St at 11:42 P.M. on October  6, 2022 for a license plate violation. The occupants had open alcoholic beverages in the vehicle. During the stop, the officer located a small baggie of methamphetamine in the vehicle. The driver, 53-year-old James Edward Wallace of Woodward, Oklahoma, and passenger, 49-year-old Arthur Eugene Sims, of Paris, were arrested and charged with  possession of a controlled substance. Both were later placed in the Lamar County Jail.

Paris Police responded to 120 calls for service and arrested 5 persons on October 6, 2022.
