This week is superhero week at Horizon House Transitional Shelter. They’ll be kicking the week off by starting the October Towel Drive. Throughout the month of October, they are asking for the community to donate new towels and washcloths for their residents. Towels can be dropped off at the admin office on 4th street Monday through Friday, 8 to 4 pm until October 31st.

For superhero week, they’ll also have a series of Facebook posts with opportunities to learn about the shelter, as well as participate in giveaways. The first giveaway begins Tuesday, so watch for the post and be sure to participate.
The week’s finale will be this Friday when they’re asking the community to wear their superhero gear. Dress up in t-shirts, costumes, capes, or masks. Then, be sure to post and tag them, letting them know they have your support!
If you have been wanting to give to the shelter, this is the perfect time to do it. You can find the donation link on their Facebook page, Lamar County Human Resources Council. Currently, we’re housing over 30 men, women, and children, and we could use your help!
