Paris Police responded to PRMC ER at 11:38 A.M. on September 21, 2022, in reference to a stabbing. The 31-year-old victim reported that he had been at his ex-girlfriend’s house at about 1:30 A.M. and was talking with her about their relationship. After the ex-girlfriend walked away and back into her house, a known male walked out from the bushes and produced a knife and demanded the victim’s backpack. The victim received three small lacerations on his back and some defensive wounds to his arm before fleeing the scene. The investigation continues.
Paris Police observed an abandoned vehicle parked on the side of the road in the 3800 block of Southeast Loop 286 at 11:41 A.M. on September 21, 2022. During the inspection of the vehicle, it was found to have been stolen out of Arlington, Texas. The vehicle was secured and the investigation continues.
Paris Police made contact with Skyler Wayne Cook, 25, of Paris, in the 3400 block of Graham St in reference to an ongoing investigation. While speaking with Cook, he was found to be in possession of a methamphetamine pipe that contained methamphetamine residue. Cook was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance of less than 1 gram. Cook was booked and later transferred to the Lamar County Jail.

Paris Police responded to a fraud in the 2200 block of NE Loop 286 at 3:55 P.M. on September 21, 2022. The reporting person told the officer that someone had contacted Ford Motor Company and wanted to buy a new pick-up truck. That person was directed to the dealership in Paris. The person filled out the application online and made arrangements to have the vehicle picked up by a transport company. The dealership learned that the application was submitted by using a person’s identity in Florida. The investigation continues.
At 6:08 P.M. on September 21, 2022, Paris Police spoke with a victim of a burglary of a residence by telephone who reported that someone had entered their residence in the 200 block of E Price St and had stolen a pistol. The victim’s sister called the victim and told him that the residence had been broken into. The victim has been out of town for a few weeks. When the victim returns, he will provide additional information. The incident is under investigation.
