Two local juveniles stopped for defective tail light – found with three semi-automatic pistols
Paris Police officers attempted to stop a vehicle in the 200 block of NE 12th St at 4:45 p.m. on Sept. 20, 2022 for a defective tail light. The vehicle refused to stop for the emergency lights and siren and attempted to elude the officers.
According to Office Curtis Garrett, “in the 1200 block of E. Grove St, a passenger exited the vehicle and fled on foot. A second officer chased the person and apprehended him near the intersection of N.E. 13th St. and Fairfax. The driver stopped the vehicle in the 900 block of Martin Luther King, Jr. Dr. and was apprehended.
Both subjects were found to be juveniles. The passenger was found to be in possession of a backpack that
contained three semi- automatic pistols. One of the pistols was found to have been stolen earlier this year in Paris. Both were booked and later released to guardians pending hearings.
