Paris Police arrested Lisa Kay Ashlock, 58, of Paris, at her residence at 7:45 A.M. on  September 9, 2022, on a warrant charging her with assault of a family member and  Municipal Court warrants. During the arrest, Ashlock was found to be in possession of  methamphetamine. Ashlock was additionally charged with possession of a controlled substance. She was placed in the city jail awaiting transfer to the Lamar County Jail.

At 1:36 P.M. on September 9, 2022, Paris Police observed Larry Dewayne Baird, 44,  of Paris, in the 300 block of Lamar Ave. Officers knew that Baird had outstanding warrants.  When the officer attempted to make contact with Baird, Baird ran from the officer. Baird was apprehended after a short foot chase. He was found to have a parole violation warrant along with Municipal Court warrants. He was additionally charged with evading arrest.  Baird was later transferred to the Lamar County Jail.

Paris Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle at 4:25 P.M. on September 9, 2022, in the 700 block of Martin Luther King, Jr Dr. The driver, identified as 25-year-old Richard  Devante Williams, of Austin, Texas, failed to display a driver’s license. When Williams exited the vehicle, Williams fled from the officer on foot. Williams was apprehended after a short footchase and arrested for evading arrest. During the investigation, Williams was found to be in possession of more than 36 grams of powder and crack cocaine and numerous ecstacy pills. During an inventory of the vehicle, Officers located a handgun. Williams was found to be a convicted felon and was charged with unlawful possession of a firearm by a  felon along with two counts of manufacture or deliver a controlled substance. Williams was additionally charged with tampering with evidence when he tossed his phone to keep  officers from taking possession of it. Williams was booked and later transferred to the  Lamar County Jail.

Paris Police arrested Jarrick Dalton Watkins, 27, of Paris, in the 600 block of N Main  St at 1:20 A.M. on September 10, 2022. Watkins was found to have an outstanding felony warrant out of Lamar County charging him with theft of property of less than $2,500 with at least 2 prior convictions. Watkins was booked and transferred to the Lamar County Jail.

Paris Police rolled up on a disturbance in the 1900 block of Booth St at 2:26 A.M. on  September 10, 2022. Officers detained a male and a female that were observed in a physical altercation. During the investigation, the male, identified as 35-year-old Travis LaRay  Bagsby, of Paris, was found to be in possession of two small baggies of powder cocaine.  Bagsby was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance of less than 1  gram. Bagsby was later placed in the Lamar County Jail.

On September 10, 2022 at about 11:38 A.M., Paris Police responded to a disturbance in the 300 block of Stone Ave. When officers arrived, the victim reported that her boyfriend, 21-year-old Jarius Jermaine Murray, of Paris, had assaulted her before leaving the apartment. Officers located Murray walking down the street and he ran from the officers.  Murray was apprehended in an abandoned building in the 2800 block of Lewis Lane.  Murray was found to have an outstanding felony warrant charging him with manufacture or deliver a controlled substance. He was also charged with continuous violence against a  family member due to several previous arrests for family violence and evading arrest or detention. Murray was later transferred to the Lamar County Jail.

Paris Police responded to a burglary of a vehicle in the 3100 block of Clarksville St at  3:22 P.M. on September 10, 2022. The victim reported that they had left their vehicle unlocked and someone stole their purse. Since the theft, the unknown suspect(s) have used  the victim’s banking cards to extract money from the victim’s account. The investigation continues.  

Paris Police responded to a disturbance in the 1500 block of Margaret St at 4:40  A.M. on September 11, 2022. When officers arrived, they located several young females getting into a vehicle. Officers detained the females and found that they were 17 and 18  years old. The females advised that their aunt had provided the alcohol to them. The aunt, identified as 47-year-old Larina Faye Estrada, was found hiding inside a closet in the residence. Estrada was found to have an outstanding felony probation violation warrant out of Fannin County on a possession of a controlled substance of more than 1 gram charge.  Estrada was arrested and later transferred to the Lamar County Jail.

Paris Police stopped a vehicle in the 1800 block of FM 195 at 8:40 P.M. on  September 11, 2022, for traveling without any headlights. The driver, 30-year-old Christopher Wade Rhoades, of Detroit, Texas, was found to have two outstanding Red River  County Probation violation warrants. One warrant was for a possession of a controlled substance charge and the other was for unlawful carrying a weapon. Rhoades was arrested and later placed in the Lamar County Jail.

Paris Police responded 285 calls for service and arrested 26 persons over the weekend ending at midnight on September 11, 2022.
