Red River Valley Fair to start Sept. 28

The Red River Valley Fair, a tradition serving Lamar County, will be held at the Lamar County Fairgrounds, 570 E. Center St. from Sept. 28 through Oct. 1. The carnival opens at 6: p.m. Wednesday through Friday and at 11 a.m. on Saturday. The carnival is closed from 4-5 p.m. every day for a work break. The carnival closes at 11 p.m. on Wednesday through Thursday and at 11:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. 

 

The fair will feature many fun things for the family to do including crafts, exhibits, the pumpkin patch, educational opportunities, and rides. Daily attractions include mainstage entertainment, Crabtree Amusements, Chainsaw Art by Nick Smith, Ponies and Pals petting zoo, CornPop, Marty Westerman, food concessions, and gellyball.

 

Fair visitors are welcome to bring a lawn chair to set out for the stage entertainment. Wristbands for the carnival rides are available at the gate for $25 on Wednesday and Thursday, $35 on Friday, $25 from 11:00 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, and $35 from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Saturday.
