Paris Police responded to a theft of a vehicle at 7:35 A.M. on September 6, 2022, in the 3500 block of Ruby Way. The victim reported that their 2007 Chevrolet pick-up had been stolen sometime during the night. The investigation led officers to believe that the vehicle was driven towards the Dallas area on I-30. The vehicle was located at 11:06 P.M. by the Mesquite Police Department. The investigation continues.
Dearius Grigsby Hawthorne, 29, of Paris, was arrested at 10:42 A.M. on September 6, 2022, at his residence, on a parole violation warrant. Hawthorne was booked and later transferred to the Lamar County Jail.

Treshawn Quindirrius Smith, 22, of Paris, was arrested at 1:27 P.M. on September 6, 2022, at the Lamar County Probation Office. Smith is currently on probation for possession of more than 4 ounces but less than 5 pounds of marijuana conviction in Rockwall County. Smith was booked and later placed in the Lamar County Jail.

Jasmine Denise Carr, 33, of Powderly, Texas, was arrested at the Lamar County Probation office at 1:29 P.M. on September 6, 2022 on a felony probation violation warrant. Carr is currently on probation for a Lamar County conviction for possession of a controlled substance of more than 1 gram. Carr was later placed in the Lamar County Jail.

Paris Police met with a victim of a fraud at the Paris Police Department at 1:16 P.M. on September 6, 2022. The victim reported that they had received a letter from a bank in Caddo Mills, Texas advising that their account was overdrafted. The victim went to that bank and informed them that they had never opened an account at that bank. The victim was advised that the account had been opened online on June 30, 2022, using the victim’s personal information. The incident is under investigation.
At 4:43 P.M. on September 6, 2022, Paris Police located 37-year-old William Vaughdre Black at his residence and placed him under arrest on a Lamar County warrant charging him with 25 counts of credit card or debit card abuse. Black was booked and transferred to the Lamar County Jail.

Paris Police responded to a family disturbance at 10:34 P.M. on September 6, 2022, in the 400 block of NE 10th St. During the investigation, it was reported that 41-year-old Christopher Eric Tiner, had pushed his elderly father to the ground during an argument. Tiner was arrested and charged with injury to an elderly person. Tiner was later transferred to the Lamar County Jail.
