TEA releases scores for area school districts

The Texas Education Agency has released scores for area school districts for the first time since the beginning of the pandemic. Although learning looked a lot different the past two years, ratings show most districts are doing pretty well.
With more than 8,400 campuses and nearly 1,200 districts in Texas that were rated this year, scores are showing promising signs of progress according to Texas Education Commissioner Mike Morath.
“I’m grateful for the driving force behind this year’s success: our teachers and local school leaders,” Morath said. “Statewide policy in Texas continues to remain focused on meeting the needs of students, with an accountability system that supports high expectations, robust tutoring supports, rigorous curricular resources, and an investment in evidence-based training for our teachers.”
Overall scores locally for area districts were pretty consistent, with Chisum Independent School District scoring the highest with an A for overall performance. The overall scores for area districts are as follows:
- Paris ISD – B – 87 OUT OF 100
- North Lamar ISD – C – 79 OUT OF 100
- Prairiland ISD – B – 88 OUT OF 100
- Detroit ISD – B – 88 OUT OF 100
- Chisum ISD – A – 90 OUT OF 100
