The identities of the two victims of Lilandria Shiaire Bell, of Paris, have been released.

The victims have been identified and their family has been notified, according to Alice Webb of the Paris Police Department.

The murder victim has been identified as Alicia Marie Turner and the assault with a deadly weapon victim has been identified as Jakellia Turner. Jakellia is the daughter of Alicia Marie Turner.

“This was another senseless and unnecessary tragedy, not only for the families involved but for the Paris community,” said Paris Police Chief Richard Salter. “On behalf of the Paris Police Department, we offer our sincere condolences to the victim’s family. In today’s climate with so much hostility in the air, we must try to remember what we all have in common as human beings, appreciate and respect those things, and not allow our differences or the evil of hate to steal our futures.”

According to Paris Police Officer Curtis Garrett, police were called to the 300 block of E. Grove Street at 12:15 a.m. for reports of shots fired.

When officers arrived, they found a 39-year-old woman deceased in the yard. Officers then found a second woman with gunshot wounds to her legs.

Garrett said officers soon arrested 34-year-old Lilandria Shiaire Bell and charged her with murder and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after she admitted to the officers that she was the person who shot the two women.
