Friday, June 10, 2022 at 9:10 am: 

Officer made contact with a complainant/parent over the telephone reporting that her five-year-old son was claiming to have been assaulted by a teacher the previous day. The assault was reported to have occurred in the 2000 block of FM 79, when a teacher/daycare worker allegedly grabbed the victim by the chin, forced his head back and grabbed him by his throat. The incident is under investigation. 

Friday, June 10, 2022 at 9:13 am: 

Officer responded to the Lamar County Attorney’s Office in the 100 block of North Main Street in reference to a report of Identity Theft. Officer made contact with the complainant and office personnel and was advised that the complainant’s brother had used his/complainant’s personal information when identifying himself to Law Enforcement Officers regarding four burglary of motor  vehicle cases investigated by Paris Police in October of 2021. A report was needed to clear the name of one brother and charge the other brother.  

Friday, June 10, 2022 at 5:05 pm: 

Officers were dispatched to the 1800 block of West Houston Street in reference to a disturbance that was in progress. Upon arrival, the victim stated that an argument started when she requested an associate of one of her relatives that had been living there; to pack her belongings and leave the residence. The suspect grabbed the victim around the throat and choked her with one hand. The incident is being investigated.  

Saturday, June 11, 2022 at 3:33 am; 

Officer was following up from a traffic stop; that had occurred on May 27, 2022, in the 300 block of  Graham wherein the officer has now learned that the subject had falsely identified himself. The subject has been correctly identified by fingerprint identification. The subject had forged several official court documents and is now facing two counts of Tampering with government documents,  Fail to identify fugitive, and fraudulent use or possession of identifying information, pending with the  District Attorney’s Office. 

Saturday, June 11, 2022, at 8:42 am:  

Officer was dispatched to the 1100 NW Loop 286 in reference to a shotgun being left on the property. Store personnel handed the officer a single shotgun round for a 12 gauge shotgun and then went inside the store and returned with a Winchester semi-automatic shotgun. The weapon was determined to be valued at around $300 based on an internet search. The weapon had been found loaded and laying by a dumpster on the east side of the building. The investigation will continue. 

Saturday, June 11, 2022 at 9:30 am: 

Officer responded to the 300 block of NE 14th Street in reference to a Burglary of a Habitation.  Complainant advised he entered the house, which is a rental property that he is renovating, and noticed the backdoor open and a rear window broken; which were both secured when he had left the previous day. A breaker panel in one room had been removed and a screwdriver that did not belong to him was stuck in a wall outlet. In other rooms, rolls of PEX tubing, bags of blow-in insulation,  miscellaneous tools, the kitchen sink along with the faucet and other valuable items were also missing. Prints were lifted from the scene and the case in under investigation.  

Saturday, June 11, 2022 at 3:59 pm: 

Officer responded to the 2200 block of Sycamore Street in reference to a report of a Burglary of a  Motor Vehicle. The victim advised that sometime during the night his unlocked Black Dodge Ram  Truck had been entered and a Metro Arms Corp 1911 Semi-Auto Pistol, ammunition, and a leather holster had been stolen. The incident will be investigated.  

Sunday, June 12, 2022 at 6:16 am: 

Officer was dispatched to the 2800 Bonham Street in reference to a theft of a vehicle. Victim advised that his 2011 black Ford Fusion was stolen from the 800 block of Campbell Street from his child’s mother’s residence. The keys were left in the ignition. The incident will be investigated.

Sunday, June 12, 2022, at 11:02 am: 

Officer was dispatched to 827 S. Main St. in response to a disturbance. The caller stated that a black male had busted out the window of a truck and the victim was chasing him west on W. Washington.  While in route dispatch advised that the suspect was gone and the victim was back at the location.  Officer made contact with the victim, who advised that he heard a beating on his door and opened it to an unknown heavy-set black male with no shirt on and multi-colored hair. The suspect was accusing the victim of messing with his girl. The victim said the suspect started hitting him in the head and continued assaulting him inside the residence while making comments. Suspect stopped the assault and went  back outside and picked up something and threw it through the victim’s back vehicle window and  then left running. The victim was complaining of head pain and claiming his nose was broken. The incident will be investigated.  

From June 10th through June 12th, 2022; the Paris Police Department responded to 200 calls for service and arrested 12 adult persons.
