Paris Police stopped a vehicle for not displaying a license plate in the 1700 block of E Price St at 7:22 P.M. on May 23, 2022. A passenger in the vehicle, 30-year-old Markeith Dontrele Perkins, of Paris, was found to have an outstanding parole violation warrant. Perkins was arrested and later placed in the Lamar County Jail.

Paris Police responded to a theft of a firearm in the 800 block of NE 10th St at 4:44 P.M. on May 20, 2022. The victim reported that they had returned home and found that the front door was not locked and a firearm was missing from inside the residence. The investigation continues.
Paris Police stopped two vehicles in the 3900 block of Lamar Ave at 12:12 A.M. on May 21, 2022, after observing multiple vehicles performing “Burnouts” in the 3500 block of Lamar Ave. During the traffic stop, both drivers were placed under arrest for racing on a highway charge. One of the drivers, identified as 26-year-old James Earl Black, II, of Roxton, attempted to keep the officer from inventorying their vehicle by giving the keys to another person that had not been in the vehicle. He was charged with tampering or fabricating physical evidence, racing on a highway, and unlawful carrying a weapon. 27-year-old Darqurius Donquail Bogan, of Paris, was arrested after he refused to give the keys to the officer. He was charged with tampering or fabricating physical evidence, public intoxication, and interfering with the duties of a public servant. The driver of the other vehicle that was stopped was arrested on misdemeanor charges. All three were later transferred to the Lamar County Jail.
