Freshwater Weekly Fishing Report

Alan Henry

GOOD. Water clear; 62 degrees; 5.83 feet low. Crappie are good on jigs and minnows 2’-18’ water temp 69* Report provided by Randy Britton, Lake Alan Henry Crappie Guide.

Amistad

GOOD. Water clear; 65-69 degrees; 55.26 feet low. Yellow catfish are good in 10-15 feet of water on live perch. Blue catfish are scattered in 40 feet of water. Channel catfish are shallow in 4-10 feet of water and suspended in 35 feet of water. Check with the parks services for ramp closures before heading out. Arlington

FAIR. Water lightly stained; 70 degrees;1.09 feet low. Bass are fair on crankbaits and spinnerbaits shallow in the early morning. After sunrise the bite shifts to Texas rigged worms and bugs shallow.

Arrowhead

GOOD. Water lightly stained; 68 degrees; 2.89 feet low. The shad spawn has begun. Crappie fishing is good on the main lake. Catfish can be caught shallow using punch bait or fresh cut shad. Look for the birds along the bank. Report by Brandon Brown, Brown’s Guide Service.

Athens

GOOD. Water clear; 70 degrees; 0.43 feet above. Fishing patterns are similar as we head into The weekend. Bass are still shallow in 2-8 feet of water using small moving baits and senkos fished over the grass edges will get numbers up to 4 pounds. Some bass have moved offshore post spawn. Austin

FAIR. Water clear; 72 degrees; 0.67 feet low. Fishing patterns are consistent with weeks past with fish relating to the creeks gearing up for the summer. Bass are good in the canals with wacky worms, small paddle tail swimbaits, or a shaky head senkos in shallow water. Lady Bird Lake bass fishing is good in shallow and deep vegetation using weedless swimbaits and Texas rigged senkos. Report provided by Carson Conklin, ATX Fishing.

B.A. Steinhagen

FAIR. Water stained; 73 degrees; 0.46 feet below. Bass are fair shallow in submerged vegetation using senkos, chatterbaits and crankbaits. with some pushing out using senkos, chatterbaits and crankbaits. Crappie are fair using minnows and jigs on structure and brush piles. Catfish are good moving shallow on cut and cheese bait.

Benbrook

SLOW. Water lightly stained; 66 degrees; 3.96 feet low. Bass are excellent to 8 pounds on crankbaits, chatterbaits and weighted wacky rigs along the rip-rap and bluff walls. Crappie are fair on brush piles and docks using minnows and jigs. White bass are fair chasing bait on silver jigging spoons. Catfish are good on cut baits.

Bob Sandlin

GOOD. Water clear; 72 degrees; 0.36 feet low. Crappie spawn appears to be complete and fish are staging on brush in 15-20 feet of water biting on minnow and jigs. Bass are shallow in 2-3 feet of water off banks and under docks. Throwing your favorite plastics should land you some nice catches. Catfish are spawning with a good bite off rocks in 2-3 feet of water using cheese bait or cut bait. Report by Marty Thomas, Lake O the Pines Crappie Fishing.

Brady

Good. Water dirty; 72 degrees; 8.44 feet low. Largemouth are excellent in shallow water with watermelon red senkos, square bills and spinnerbaits. Most have spawned out, but a few are late to the party. Channel catfish and blue catfish are good on live perch or shad in 6-10 feet of water. Yellow catfish are fair on live perch. White bass are fair on live minnows or small crankbaits all over the lake. Crappie are fair on minnows at the marina with a lot of undersized crappie being caught.

Braunig

GOOD. Water stained, 77 degrees. Largemouth bass continue to be good on spinnerbaits and soft plastics along the reed beds. Red drum have been good on shrimp, live perch and crawfish in 10-20 feet of water moving deeper as the sun moves overhead. Trolling soft plastics and small silver spoons has been good. Channel catfish can be good at night on worms and cut bait from the park shoreline at night, in the coves throughout the recreational shoreline.

Bridgeport

GOOD. Water normal stain; 65 degrees; 4.16 feet low. Both ends of the lake are stirred up after the recent rains r . Crappie spawn is moving south with warmer weather. Jigs and minnows under corks are best around shallow cover. Black bass should be on their beds in the back ends of quiet coves during the warmest part of the day using lizards or creature baits. Sand bass have been feeding steadily for the last month. The north end is producing good catches on slabs. Keep an eye out for 2021 Hybrids as they have been running with the sand bass. Caddo

SLOW. Water stained; 67 degrees; 1.27 feet high. Caddo is in the post spawn transition phase so the bite is starting to heat up out in the grass as the females move out and start feeding again. Try swimbaits and top water like frogs or buzz baits early for big ones and go to flukes or Texas rigs as the sun comes up. Grass is getting thick this year and the lilly pads are blooming on the flats around the river system. Schooling fish should be right around the corner. Calaveras

GOOD. Water stained, 76 degrees. Red drum have been fair on shad and frozen shrimp around the boat ramps in 15-25 feet of water trolling soft plastics and small silver spoons. Channel catfish have been good on shrimp and cheese bait.

Cedar Creek

EXCELLENT. Water normal stain; 71 degrees; 1.83 feet low. Fishing and the gusty winds are consistent. Crappie are excellent under docks and on brush piles in 6-18 feet of water using jigs and minnows. Largemouth bass are excellent on rocks, docks, and in the shad spawn. As the fish feed up on the schools of shad in the early mornings you can catch them on chatterbaits and topwaters. White and hybrid bass are excellent schooling in the morning on main lake humps around the birds. Quarter ounce crappie jigs and silver slabs. Choke Canyon

GOOD. Water stained; 75 degrees; 20.05 feet low. Bass are very good shallow in 5-8 feet of water in the grass using crankbaits and chatterbaits, and deeper on the lower end with crankbaits. Crappie are very good with limits over brush piles using live minnows and jigs. White bass are good on jigging spoons on humps near the dam and road beds. Catfish are good on cheese bait. Cisco

GOOD. Water stained; 70 degrees; 4.29 feet low. Crappie are great on live minnows. Catfish, and sand bass are good using live minnows, perch or crawfish. Perch bite is good on worms. Report by Jason Miller, Lake Cisco Rentals.

Coleman

SLOW. Slightly stained; 64 degrees; 2.51 feet low. Bass are fair shallow along vegetation and structure flipping creature baits. Crappie are fair on minnows and jigs on main lake brush piles. Catfish are fair on cut bait.

Conroe

GOOD. Slightly stained; 73 degrees; 0.25 feet above. Lots of eater sized catfish on bulkheads early and late in the day chasing shad and quite a few on structure preparing to spawn from 5-30 feet of water. Many folks using liver, catfish bubblegum, shrimp, shad or minnows under a cork. Hybrids are in small schools from 14-27 feet of water. Success trolling for hybrids with a hellbender and a pet spoon, or using your electronics. Some early morning top water bite is happening in some areas. Crappie are good in 14-27 feet of water on orange/monkey milk crappie jigs, and crappie magnets in sho nuff on standing timber, lay downs, brush piles. Many hits on minnows in the deeper water. Black bass are good early morning in 8-17 feet of water deadsticking weightless senkos dead sticking close to bulkheads will catch them along with creature baits Texas rigged. Cooper

GREAT. Water lightly stained; 72 degrees; 2.50 feet low. The threadfin shad are spawning on shallow banks during daylight. Blue catfish are excellent on fresh cut bait. Channel catfish are good on cut bait and prepared baits. Report by Johnny Ward, Ward’s Catfish Guide Service.

Corpus Christi Lake

GOOD. 72 degrees; 5.05 feet below. Catfish are good in 10-15 feet of water on cheese bait, worms, soap baits, shad, and perch. Live perch or cut shad on trotlines and jug lines are also working well. Largemouth bass are fair in 5-10 feet of water near structure on crankbaits, rattletraps, and jigs. White bass are good in 10-15 feet of water on small spoons and live minnows. Crappie are good in 5-10 feet of water on minnows and jigs near structure. Freshwater drum are good in 5-10 feet of water on shrimp and worms. Report provided by Damian Hubbs, Mathis Bait Co.

Cypress Springs

Water stained; 68-72 degrees; 1.67 feet low. The carp and the gar have moved up in the shallows and this activity will typically move any remaining spawning bass or crappie out of the area. Post spawn bass can be difficult to catch this time of year. Look for them to suspend around main lake structure. Finding the depth they suspend at is the challenge. Once you figure out the depth, then match your presentation accordingly. Crappie will be on mid depth brush in 6-10 feet. Again, figuring out the depth is key. You always want to fish just above these fish for best results. Catfish have been good in the shallows where the wind has been blowing into. Prepared baits are still producing well. Eagle Mountain

GOOD. Water stained, 71 degrees; 2.84 feet low. Fishing pattern is similar as we head into the weekend. White bass are good on shallow points and fish are starting to be caught on the main lake structure using slabs. Crappie are good around marinas, brush piles, and walls in shallow water with minnows and jigs with white color combinations on cloudy days. Largemouth bass are fair to good on crankbaits around docks and main lake structure. Blue catfish are good on cut bait drift fishing and anchored in mid-depths and shallow. Water levels have been dropping quickly, exercise caution as shallow mudflats and other shallow areas are starting to present hazards. Falcon

GOOD. Water stained; 78-83 degrees; 41.46 feet low. Flathead catfish bite is good up the river. Spawning keeper catfish bite is slow at the back of creeks and edge of channels using shad, and stink bait. Bass are good on plastic worms, and crankbaits in 8-15 feet of water. Gar are shallow along banks with vegetation using live or cut tilapia and cut carp. White bass are good in the rapids up river along the bank. Fayette

GOOD. Water lightly stained; 67 degrees. Bass are good on humps with craw jigs and crankbaits in 8-18 feet of water. Catfish are hitting punch bait in 6-12 feet of water, and trotlines over chum. Perch are good on shallow flats using worms. Report by Weldon Kirk, Fish Tales Guide Service.

Fork

GOOD. Water Stained; 73 degrees; 5.91 feet low. Lake Fork crappie seem to be getting closer to the end of the spawn this week. Seeing some white crappie still shallow but the black crappie are on the move deeper. Still catching some really good fish in 8-9 feet of water on brush. With the lake still low most of the fish are on the outside edge of trees. Seeing a lot more fish staging in numbers in the typical post spawn and summer areas on structures like brush, lay downs, bushy trees and points. Bass are good on windy points in 1-3 feet of water with shad colored square bills, spinner baits, chatterbaits. Ft. Phantom Hill

GOOD. Water stained; 61 degrees; 2.69 feet low. Hybrid bass and white bass are fair on structure using live baits. Bass are good on spinnerbaits and chatterbaits. Crappie are reported to be good on jigs and minnows near the mouths of creeks and main lake brush piles. Catfish are good in shallow to moderate depths on cut bait. Graham

SLOW. Water lightly stained; 69 degrees; 1.57 feet low. Crappie are good shallow biting on jigs and minnows. Sand bass are good running in the creeks and rivers. Catfish are good shallow on cut and prepared baits.

Granbury

GOOD. Water lightly stained; 65 degrees; 0.39 feet low. Fishing is good with fish biting in the same pattern. Striped bass can be caught on deep diving crankbaits, umbrella-rigs and live bait in 20-40 feet of water. Catfish are good on live and cut shad in 30-50 feet of water. The largemouth bass bite is still good mid lake near the marinas and rocky banks biting square bill crankbaits and white flukes dipped in chartreuse. Granger

GOOD. Water lightly stained; 73 degrees; 0.43 feet high. Black bass are fair on buzzbaits fished next to standing timber in Willis Creek and the river. Crappie are good on crappie jigs fished over brush in 5-10 feet of water. White bass are fair on rat-l-traps fished along shallow windy road beds. Blue catfish are good using shad in shallow water. Grapevine

GOOD. Water lightly stained; 63 degrees; 1.06 feet low. Good number of catches but few keepers as most of the fish are undersized. Shad are spawning shallow. Start early along shorelines as the shad spawn at first light. Fish will be actively feeding on the bait. In-line spinners will attract the fishes attention. Greenbelt

FAIR. Water stained; 66 degrees; 41.24 feet low. Bass are fair on shallow beds along rocky shorelines with creature baits, Texas rigs, and minnows. Crappie and white bass are fair near gravel beds and brush piles using jigs and minnows.

Houston County

GOOD. Water stained; 68 degrees; 0.26 feet above. Fishing patterns are similiar and the lake is fishing good. Crappie are good on brush piles and docks using minnows and jigs. Bass are good in shallow vegetation and rocks on spinnerbaits and crankbaits. Catfish are good starting to transition shallow on cut and prepared baits.

Hubbard Creek

GOOD. Water Stained; 72 degrees; 3.44 feet low. Bass are good in shallow water. White bass are good in 5-10 feet of water in the main lake chasing the shad spawn.

Jacksonville

GOOD. Water lightly stained; 67 degrees; 0.14 feet above. Largemouth bass are fair along the shoreline with some pushing out on chatterbaits and flukes. Crappie are fair on minnows and jigs on main lake brush piles. Catfish are fair shallow on cut bait.

Joe Pool

GOOD. Water lightly stained; 68 degrees; 1.84 feet low. The bass and crappie fishing is great at this time. Bass can be caught on white or shad-colored crankbaits or spinnerbaits on most shorelines with a rocky bottom or any type of cover. Slow dragging a Texas rigged senko-style bait off main lake points can be a great choice for larger fish. Fish the bait in 1-10 feet of water in or around coves and secondary points. Lake O’ the Pines

FAIR. Water lightly stained; 72 degrees; 0.57 feet low. Crappie spawn appears to be complete and fish are staging on brush in 15-20 feet of water biting on minnow and jigs. Lavon

GOOD. Water lightly stained; 55-58 degrees; 0.04 feet low. White bass are good on swimbaits in 1-8 feet of water along shoreline banks early morning during the shad spawn. Later the fish transition to 14 feet of water with a few crappies mixed in. Crappie spawn is complete and the fish are moving to deep water structure. LBJ

Lewisville

GOOD. Water lightly stained; 68 degrees; 0.16 feet above. Winds have been brutal, but fishing continues to be good. White bass are on points and humps in 20-30 feet of water using slabs or live bait. Hybrid stripers are slow, mixed in with the crappie. Catfish are good drifting cut shad or chicken breasts on wind blown points and flats near creek channels. Anchor shallow near flooded timber in 1-24 feet of water. Crappie are fair to good from 6-25 feet of water on piles of leaves, stumps, laydowns, brush piles, standing timber, and bridge columns using minnows and jigs. Limestone

GREAT. Water clear; 74 degrees; 0.03 feet above. Fish are still bedding and the spawned out fish are transitioning to deeper water. Largemouth bass are good in 2-7 feet of water using Texas rigs, finesse jigs, chatterbaits, and wacky worms. Livingston

Martin Creek

SLOW. 69 degrees. Water lightly stained; 0.02 feet above. Crappie are good on main lake brush piles and structure. Bass are good in submerged vegetation along the shoreline with Texas rigs, crankbaits, and swimbaits. Catfish are fair on punch bait and liver.

Medina

FAIR. Water lightly stained; 60 degrees; 55.30 feet low. Black bass are fair on drops with submerged vegetation with soft plastics and top waters. White bass are good on slabs on main lake humps. Striped bass are fair following bait balls. Catfish are good with cut bait.

Meredith

GOOD. Water stained; 59-61 degrees; 52.69 feet low. Bass are good in shallow water using minnows, plastics and other artificials. Catfish are good on live baits, stink baits and punch baits. Crappie are coming on strong with the ticket being minnows. Trout are fair with some catches in Spring Canyon Stilling Basin on small spinners and power baits. Walleye are good in various depths, with reports of big numbers being caught by some. Most catches are 14-17 inches, not big but great eaters. Cast minnows, grubs, and other artificials. Millers Creek

GOOD. Water stained; 60 degrees; 2.77 feet low. Bass are in submerged vegetation and grass lines using crankbaits, spinner baits and chatterbaits. Crappie are on main lake brush piles using jigs and minnows. Catfish are shallow on windblown points using cut shad and prepared baits.

Naconiche

FAIR. Water clear to stained; 76 degrees. Starting to see some post-spawn bass schooling up over deeper water. The wind just keeps blowing and the thick grass just keeps growing. Nasworthy

GOOD. Water murky; 72 degrees. 1.11 feet low. Bass are good in the reeds and around boat docks using soft plastics and top water. Crappie are good in the reeds, around docks, and the bridge using crappie jigs and minnows. Catfish are good by the dam and in the river, using cut bait. Navarro Mills

GOOD. Stained; 72 degrees; 1.87 feet low. Fishing patterns are similar with a good morning bite off the rocks and at the dam. Shad are spawning shallow, attracting feeding fish. Bass are good near the dam using your favorite plastics. Crappie are good with numbers being caught on live minnows and jigs.

O.C. Fisher

FAIR. Water stained; 65 degrees; 43.49 feet low. Largemouth bass are good in shallow vegetation on crankbaits, and spinnerbaits. Crappie are good on minnows and jigs on main lake brush piles. White bass are fair on silver spoons and slabs on windblown points and humps. Catfish are fair on stink bait, live, and cut bait.

O.H. Ivie

GREAT. Water clear; 67-72 degrees; 17.79 feet low. White bass are good with live bait or jigs at the mouths of rivers in 18-20 feet of water. Crappie are slow with jigs and minnows. Largemouth bass are good and transition out of spawn. Catfish are good shallow on prepared baits, live and cut bait.

Oak Creek

GOOD. Water lightly stained; 64-65 degrees; 6.85 feet low. Fishing is good and the winds should allow for nice weather. Crappie are good limiting on nice size fish in lights at night on minnows. Bass are good on worms and spinner baits. White bass are fair on slabs in 20-25 feet of water. Report provided by Randall Pate, Sportsman’s Lodge.

Palestine

GOOD. Water lightly stained; 68 degrees; 0.09 feet high. North end of the lake bass big eyed jig trailing black/blue craws, senkos, wacky worm and gold spinner baits in lay downs and brush along shorelines. Crappie on timber, few smaller sized on brush piles mostly jigs and few minnows. White bass are excellent on points using rattle traps. Palo Pinto

SLOW. Water lightly stained; 70 degrees; 1.17 feet low. Fishing has been slow after the recent rains. Try dark colored spinnerbaits and soft plastics in the stained water. The topwater bite should turn on as the lake clears. Shad are spawning, so look to the shorelines to find active feeding fish. Possum Kingdom

GOOD. Water lightly stained; 65 degrees; 1.83 feet low. Striper fishing is great. Early morning bite on live shad. Still moving quick and not stopping anywhere very long. Sand bass fishing is amazing. Catching lots of fish using small live shad, spoons, slabs, and jigs in almost any color on or close to the bottom when fish are found. Proctor

FAIR. Water stained; 66 degrees; 2.40 feet low. Black bass are fair on worms and spinnerbaits. Crappie are good on jigs around brush piles. Striper and white bass are good on slabs and rattletraps.

Raven

GOOD. Water stained; 80 degrees; 3 feet low. Bass are cruising the shallows, but have been getting caught on lipless crankbaits and soft plastics. Crappie are hot on jigs and minnows around structure. Catfish are good on live bream and chicken breasts. Now is a great time to bring the kids out as the bluegill bite is on fire. Throw a night crawler and a small hook, and you can catch them left and right.

Ray Hubbard

GOOD. Water lightly stained; 68-70 degrees; 0.14 feet low. Shad are spawning and fish are feeding. White bass are excellent on shallow flats in 3-5 feet water water throwing tail spinners and 3 inch artificial minnows with a half ounce jig head. Ray Roberts

SLOW; Water lightly stained; 68 degrees; 1.35 feet low. Blue and channel catfish are fair on cut bait and punch bait shallow on windblown points. Crappie are good on jigs and minnows in submerged structures and main lake brush piles. Largemouth bass are good shallow on rocky shoreline and grass lines using soft plastics. White bass are fair on slabs and jigging spoons.

Richland Chambers

FAIR. Water clear; 62-68 degrees; 2.28 feet low. Crappie are good as they finish their spawn in the south end of the lake. Nice catches on minnows in 2-4 feet of water. White bass are excellent on slabs. Hybrid bass are fair on live shad and swimbaits on main lake points in 15-25 feet of water and the 309 Flats. Watch for the gulls as they will lead you to fish. Eater size channel catfish are fair on punch bait on a #4 treble hook. Blue catfish are good mixed in with the white bass, and on wind blown points. Sam Rayburn

GOOD. Water stained; 74 degrees; 1.23 feet low. Bass are good along the banks and in submerged brush using white popping frogs. The bite in the creek channels is good on crankbaits and Carolina rigs. Crappie are good, coming out from the spawn moving to brush piles. Catfish are good in the creek channel drop-offs on cut bait and shrimp. Bluegill are moving out of shallows to brush piles. Somerville

FAIR. Stained; 72 degrees; 0.43 feet high. Crappie, bluegill, and catfish are good near Somerville Marina early morning and late evening. Black bass are good in 5-12 feet of water on rocky drop-offs hitting craw jigs and blue/white or red/white crankbaits. Crappie are very good on main lake brush piles 12-18 feet of water biting minnows, and gray or lights out jig colors. Many still have eggs. Catfish are good, with a few early spawners, on points in 2-6 feet of water with shad, liver, and punch bait. Spence

FAIR. Water stained; 67 degrees. 39.88 feet low. Bass are good shallow in vegetation on crankbaits, and soft plastics. Crappie are good on main lake structure using minnows and jigs. White bass are fair on windblown points and humps with slabs. Channel catfish are fair on live and cut bait on windblown points.

Stamford

FAIR. Water stained; 60 degrees; 2.22 feet low. All fish are shallow. Channel and blue catfish shad are good on shad. Bass and crappie are good shallow biting bass minnows and jigs. White bass are slow. Yellow catfish are slow.

Stillhouse

GOOD. Water lightly stained; 71 degrees; 4.14 feet low. The hydrilla is beginning to reach the surface in many shallow areas as the water steadily falls. Local bass tournament results have been solid, with 3-fish limits weighing 15-18 pound required to win. Successful black bass anglers are using soft plastic Texas-rigged on the edges of the hydrilla, with 12-14 feet of water seeing a lot of action. Wacky-rigs used over top of shallower hydrilla is accounting for more, but smaller, fish. Dark, natural hues are always a solid bet on Stillhouse Hollow’s super-clear water. Sulphur Springs

FAIR. Water lightly stained; 68 degrees; 3.29 feet low. Bass are fair pushing out of the shorelines to deeper water in grass biting your favorite plastics. Crappie are good on main lake brush piles with jigs and minnows. Catfish are fair with punch bait and cut bait.

Tawakoni

GOOD. Water lightly stained; 68 degrees; 1.61 feet low. Lake Tawakoni continues to show off in the amount of fish it is producing. White bass and hybrids continue to feed on large schools of shad in the 6-25 feet of water. These fish are very active right now taking advantage of a wide open shad spawn. Small swimbaits and slab spoons in chartreuse are working best. Blue and channel catfish are biting great in shallow water. Channels are best on prepared bait. Blues are liking cut shad. Crappie are still spawning in shallow water. There are some fish that have already spawned and that have transitioned to brush piles and bridge pilings. Largemouth bass are blowing up on retaining walls and rocks early in the morning on spawning shad. Top water baits are really starting to work well. Texana

FAIR. Water stained; 72 degrees; 1.24 feet low. Crappie are fair, hit-or-miss on brush piles north of Sandy Creek and the Navidad River on minnows. Catfish are good throughout the lake on liver perch, cut bait and juglines.

Texoma

GOOD. Water stained; 63 degrees; 0.76 feet low. Striped bass have a good early morning and evening bite. The spawn is coming to a close and the bigger sized fish are showing up. The slab bite has started but swimbaits, Alabama rigs will land you catches still. Look for some too water action as the fish chase the shad spawn. Toledo Bend

GOOD. Water stained; 69 degrees; 0.75 feet low. The water level is 171.2 with no generators running. Water temperature in the main lake is 65-69 degrees. The back feeder creeks are stained but the shallow flats and main lake is clear. The lake has dropped an inch this week and the water levels are still holding up in the buck brush and the freshly mowed yards. Bass are moving around in vegetation and around structures that are submerged with the higher water levels. Try casting some of these topwater imitations like popping frogs, buzz baits, spinnerbaits,

Travis

GOOD. Stained; 73 degrees; 25.11 feet low. Bass are good on main lake points and pockets, and near boat docks using swimbaits with a jighead. Report provided by Carson Conklin, ATX Fishing. Bass are good at the marinas with flutter spoons and swimbaits, and in the river on secondary points using swim jigs. Crappie are really good in The Colorado River on brush piles near docks. Bass are good shallow biting on crankbaits, shaky head worms and Texas rigged worms and craws. Some are schooling in deeper water in the backs of creeks, coves and marinas. GOOD. Water stained. 71 degrees. 13.54 feet low. Yellow catfish are fair on live shad and golden shiners. Channel catfish are fair on prepared baits. Crappie are fair in 10-30 feet of water, with most catches on the smaller size. White bass are fun right now with a good bite trolling and casting artificials. Tyler

GOOD. Water lightly stained; 69 degrees; 0.17 feet above. Fishing continues to be good and shallow when the winds allow. Bass are good on trick worms and crankbaits starting to come off beds. Waco

GOOD. Water stained; 68-70 degrees; 5.30 feet low. Crappie are biting between 8-15 feet of water. Fish have made their way back out to brush piles. Still some good fish up on the rivers and creeks, but the spawn is coming to a close. Report by Zach Minnix, Jig N Jerk Guide Service. The crappie are biting in 2-4 feet of water on minnows or soft plastic crappie lure in electric chicken with a chartreuse 1/16 ounce jig heads under a small cork about a foot and a half down. The shad spawn has started and the largemouth and white bass are feeding heavy early morning. Topwaters, spinnerbaits and squarebills will get the job done early and then switch to flipping or finesse later in the day when things die down. White bass and hybrids are getting back to the main lake and will be feeding heavy early with the largemouth during the shad spawn. Catfish are full of eggs mixed in with the crappie shallow. GOOD. Water clear; 73 degrees. Bass are excellent, targeting grass out to 12 feet of water or less using small swimbaits and Texas rigged 4-5 inch worms. Crappie are good on jigs and minnows. Bass are good shallow in vegetation using crankbaits, swimbaits and some topwaters. Crappie are good on main lake brush piles with minnows and jigs. Catfish are good shallow using cut and prepared bait.

White River

SLOW. Water stained; 60 degrees; 23.50 feet low. Windy weather has the water murky slowing the bite. Crappie are fair with many smaller catches on jigs. Catfish are good on shrimp. Largemouth bass should be migrating shallow to beds biting on creature baits.

Whitney

GOOD. Water lightly stained; 66 degrees; 2.45 feet low. Striped bass are great in 22-45 feet of water throughout the reservoir using deep diving crankbaits, umbrella-rigs, but best on live shad. GOOD. Water stained; 70 degrees; 1.71 feet low. Fishing is similar as we head into the weekend. White bass are good in shallow water main lake points on shiners and roadrunners. Fish are reported being caught on main lake structures using slabs. Crappie are good around marinas, brush piles, and walls with minnows and jigs with white color combinations on cloudy days as well as in the river. Bass are fair on boat docks and in standing timber on crankbaits and finesse baits.
