Bonham first responders worked together over the weekend to save two puppies from a house fire.

According to officials, the C-shift crew received the call around 10:20 a.m. on Sunday, which took them to the house fire on 2nd Street West.

Officials said Bonham Police Department officers arrived first and were told two puppies were trapped inside.

“Both puppies were located during secondary searches and they were treated on the scene using our pet oxygen mask,” officials announced.

No other injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
