According to Paris police, thieves cut a hole in the roof of a building to gain access to it in the 3700 block of Lamar Avenue.

Police responded to a burglar alarm around 3 a.m. this morning. When officers arrived, one of them noticed a hole in the roof of the building.

Police said unknown suspects had apparently cut a hole in the roof to gain access and stole numerous cartons of cigarettes and a small safe.

The incident is under investigation. Anyone with information should call the Paris police at 903-784-6688.
