REGIONAL: Child injured after being run over by skid steer

At 7:46 pm on Tuesday, April 19, 2022, Hunt County Sheriff’s deputies, along with West Tawakoni Police, Tawakoni Fire Department, Cash Fire and Rescue, and AMR Hunt County responded to a report of a child struck by a tractor at the Lovely RV Park.
A medical helicopter launch was immediately requested by the responding AMR ambulance. When first responders arrived, within two minutes, they observed a 2-year-old male child laying on the ground near a skid steer tractor. Despite potential weather conditions west of the metroplex, PHI Med 2 out of McKinney accepted the call. The AMR crew and Tawakoni firefighters performed CPR on the child and took him to Hunt Regional Hospital-Quinlan at 8:07 pm. PHI Med 2 arrived at the Quinlan ER helipad around 8:20 pm. The child was then transported by PHI Med 2 to Medical City Children’s – Dallas.
Hunt County Sheriff Terry Jones would like to commend the West Tawakoni Police Department, West Tawakoni Fire Department, and personnel at the Hunt Regional Quinlan ER for their outstanding job in performing life-saving measures on the child. Sheriff Jones also asks everyone to “pray for this baby and his family during this heartbreaking time.”
This is incident is being investigated by the Hunt County Sheriff’s Office with the assistance of the Department of Public Safety and the West Tawakoni Police Department. At the time of this release, the child remains in critical condition.
