Best bet is to run the grass lines in pockets and work the edges of those, either front side or back side where the grass starts from the sand. A lot of the bites are coming just in the grass from the sandy areas. Use 4-5 inch worms in those areas. A shallow crankbait will get you bit as well. There are some fish deeper as well and you can catch those around humps using Carolina rigged small worms and creature baits as well as small straight tail swimbaits on small ball head jigs, Ned rigs and shaky heads. If you want to catch bed fish, work the reeds in as deep of water as possible. Report provided by Bryan Cotter, Texas Hawgs Bass Fishing Guide Service.

GOOD. Water normal stain; 62 degrees; 4.53 feet low. Sand bass and hybrid striped bass are feeding off and on throughout the day. The north end has had some pretty good action mid morning around working birds. For now, deadsticking has been very effective, and the slab bite should pick up pretty quickly. Largemouth bass are heading toward their spawn. Check out points at the entrances to big coves. Craw colored crankbaits and craw soft plastics have been producing well. Crappie have certainly moved shallow, especially in the north end. Try dipping some minnows around the shallow cover between docks. The spawn will continue moving south as it gets warmer. Look for blue catfish to move up shallower near old timber where cormorants roost using cut shad. Report by Keith Bunch, Lake Bridgeport Guide Service.

Buchanan
FAIR. Water lightly stained; 64 degrees; 5.00 feet low. Crappie are good in 3-12 feet of water using a chartreuse jig. White bass are good on main lake points in 15-20 feet of water on slabs. Report by Jess Rotherham, Texas Crappie Fishing Service.
Caddo
SLOW. Water stained; 67 degrees; 1.44 feet high. Bass bite is still slow on Caddo with all these cold fronts and the level of the lake fluctuating so much. The grass bite is coming around and will get better with the bream starting to bed up. The tree bite is still the best bet with the use of flukes and wacky worms still main weapons. A swimbait is coming into play around the trees now as it warms up some as well as the frog bite. Stick to your basics with dark colors in stained and natural colors in clear water. As always the beauty of this lake is breathtaking even if the bite is slow so come enjoy God’s creation and maybe get that bite of a lifetime. There are still fish moving and feeding in shallows. With the shad spawn approaching, look for the bass to be feeding heavy in the areas where they spawn. Fast moving baits like lipless crank baits and spinner baits are good choices but this is my favorite time to use buzzbaits to target these fish. Crappie are still good in the shallows around structure like dock pilings or retaining walls. Slip cork rigs with bright color jigs such as electric chicken are producing a lot of bites. Look for the catfish in the areas where fresh water runoff and creeks have flowed into the lake. These fish can be caught on multiple baits such as fresh cut shad, punch bait or even night crawlers work well in these areas. Report by Captain Mike Thompson, Lake Tawakoni Guide Service.

FAIR. Water Stained; 61-68 degrees; 6.12 feet low. Lake Fork crappie fishing in finally starting to feel like normal spring fishing. This past week the crappie really started to show up in the normal springtime areas in numbers. With the lake level still 6 feet down those fish we typically see in 10-18 feet are more like 5-13 feet this year. Big fish ready to spawn are being pulled for the bottom of timber in those depths. I’m still also seeing fish on the way to spawning areas in 15-25 feet on timber. Lots of people are taking advantage of the super shallow spawners still in less than 3 feet of water on jigs or minnows under corks. Minnows are still producing really well for my customers but jigs will also get the job done this time of year. It’s a great time to get out and crappie fish Lake Fork or any of the great East Texas lakes. Report provided by Jacky Wiggins, Jacky Wiggins Guide Service.
