No boil water notice after water line breaks

On Wednesday morning, (04/06/2022) at approximately 3:30 am, the City of Paris experienced a 20” water line break on 3rd NE between Center and Clement Streets that resulted in the elevated storage tank on the east side of town to be drained. This incident moved the demand on the city’s water supply from the east elevated storage tank to the ground storage pump station, central elevated storage tank and west elevated storage tank to provide continuity of service. Some locations in the northeast area of the city did experience a brief period of lower water pressure with a few places reporting a loss of water.
City staff is following protocol set forth by the Texas Commission On Environmental Quality (TCEQ), to include flushing the system and taking samples to ensure the water quality for our customers.
Per TCEQ standards, a boil water notice is not required, or appropriate, for any of our citizens at this time. The purpose of this information being shared with the public is to provide transparency.
If you are experiencing discolored water, low water pressure, or no water, please contact Public Works at 903-784-9289.
