SPECIAL DELIVERY: Volunteer firefighters deliver baby boy

Volunteer firefighters had a special delivery last week when a mother in active labor called for their help. The magical moment happened during the early morning hours of March 26, 2022.
Wolfe City Fire Rescue officials, a volunteer fire department in Hunt County, Texas, responded to the active labor call; specifically, captains Geoff Morgan and Bryan Dawson. When they arrived, they quickly found that the mother wasn’t going to be able to last until Hunt County AMR arrived – and they stepped up to the plate.
Chief Gene Dawson and firefighters Chris George and Rodney Riepenhoff also assisted with the delivery. Officials said Hunt County AMR arrived shortly after the delivery and took both mom and baby boy to the hospital.
“Both baby Preston and mom are doing well,” officials said.
The pair visited the men who helped deliver Preston during the Wolfe City Fire Rescue business meeting Monday evening.
