Catfish are slow on liver, fresh cut bait and live perch. Report provided by Randy Britton, Lake Alan Henry Crappie Guide. The bass pre-spawn is finally underway with fish moving up to 5-25 feet of water. Success with swim jigs, spinnerbaits and senkos. Report provided by Phillip Pool, Gone Fish’n Guide Service.

Retrieves should be as slow as possible to keep the blades spinning. Slabs are beginning to be refused, especially by suspended, migrating fish. Caddo
SLOW. Water staned; 67 degrees; 1.82 feet high. Lake is muddy from all the rain and the cold front dropped the water temperature around 9 degrees, went from 67 to 58 and on Caddo that is a huge deal. The bite has been very slow and tough, hoping with these 80 degree days this week coming up and 50 degree nights there will be more females and males moving back up around the trees to spawn. When that happens, the bass will bite flukes and wacky worms around the trees, with natural colors in clear conditions and your dark colors like june bug or black and blue in all the muddy water. Even with the tough conditions there is always a chance for that bite of a lifetime on any cast and as always you get to enjoy this majestic lake that God spoke into existence. Report provided by Vince Richards, Caddo Lake Fishing & Fellowship

Fork
FAIR. Water Stained; 60 degrees; 6.42 feet low. Lake Fork water temps are finally on the rise and fish are moving shallow in big numbers. This past week crappie were still being caught in 20-25 feet on trees in the main lake when the winds would allow us to stay out there. Fish could be found in 6-10 feet as well on trees, brush and lay downs. We did catch fish up as shallow as 3.5 feet on some days around stumps when water temps were above 60. Been getting lots of reports of bank fisherman limiting out easily the last few hours of the day in 1.5 feet of water using jigs or minnows under corks. The jig bite is good right now and the minnow bite is great this time of year as well. Report provided by Jacky Wiggins, Jacky Wiggins Guide Service. Look for the warmest water for best results. Bass are good on red spinnerbaits and square bills in 3-4 feet of water midway back in the pockets. ViperXP Jigs still working on big wood near creeks and ditches but also in the flats 3-6 feet of water. Texas rigs with watermelon red flukes are also good in 2-4 feet of water. Good Luck and good fishing. Report by Lake Fork fishing guide Marc Mitchell and Jason Hoffman, Lake Fork Pro.

Tawakoni
GOOD. Water lightly stained; 57 degrees; 2.34 feet low. White bass and hybrid striper are still in the creeks, but we have seen small groups of these fish returning to the main lake and feeding. Slabs, spoons and swimbaits in chartreuse are the ticket right now slow rolled through the fish are working. Eater sized blue catfish bite is in full swing. Catching limits using small pieces of fresh cut shad fishing in 2-15 feet of water. Channel catfish bite has also intensified as we are seeing these fish caught now on bobbers using punch bait with a treble hook. Crappie are back and forth trying to move up into shallow water. If you can catch a couple warm days, look for them in knee deep water on jigs. Bass are really good now as they have moved up extremely shallow on points and sub points with submerged structure holding fish. Report provided by Captain Michael Littlejohn, Lake Tawakoni Guide Service.

Toledo Bend
GOOD. Water stained; 59 degrees; 1.76 feet low. The water level is 170.5 with two generators running 24 hours each for the last week. Toledo Bend had storms come through that dropped 4-5 inches of rain upstream raising the lake level about a foot. After a rainfall, head to the back of the creeks and find clear, shallow, calm and stable water out of the current. The bass will be feeding in the new vegetation along the banks where insects and bugs have washed into the lake. Use topwater imitations like popping frogs, buzz baits, spinnerbaits, wacky worms, lizards, and don’t forget them swim jigs and BIG swimbaits. You might be surprised what you catch. The buck bass are starting their beds waiting for the magic spawn temperature of 68-72 degrees. The Crappie are hitting the banks now, in 2-5 feet of water biting on live minnows under a slip cork rig or plastics with or without an indicator. Best colors for plastics are monkey milk, bluegrass blue and chartreuse. Fly fishers are casting a white/red collar fly jig and a white/chartreuse Clouser minnow. The magic spawn temperature for the crappie is 65 degrees. Catfish are still holding in 2-4 feet of water early in the mornings at the base of cypress trees mid lake. The catfish are biting on a slip cork rig from first light to 8:30 A.M. with shrimp, chicken livers and Captain’s garlic (chicken flavored) weenies. The air is crisp, and the campfires are warm so get the family and go fishing for those good times and wonderful memories! Remember to always keep your life jack on while on the water (the water is cold, and hypothermia is dangerous). Good luck and tight lines!
